Should you throw away expired cards?
Should I really throw away my expired cards? I mean, they still have my name and information on them. Isn't there a risk of identity theft if I just toss them in the trash? Plus, I've heard some people cut them up or shred them before discarding. Is that really necessary? And what about credit cards with rewards or loyalty programs? Do I lose those benefits if I don't keep the expired card? I'm just trying to figure out the best way to handle these things without compromising my security or missing out on any potential perks.
